Laura Burkamper
Chief Executive Manager
Laura Burkamper is Chief Executive Manager of Burkamper Consulting LLC. Laura has over 30 years of experience in the application and development of technology solutions to meet clients’ business needs. She focuses on working with business and technology leaders, on IT strategy, governance, platform selection, systems integration and process improvement. Laura’s experience includes technology assessments, complex project and program management, business process design and implementation, software evaluation, selection and implementation of enterprise applications.
Laura began her career as a systems trainer in 1991 at TeleDirect International after graduating from the University of Iowa. In the eight years she spent with the company she served in many roles from business development, marketing, product management and strategic technology management. She received her Masters of Business Administration from St. Ambrose University in 1996. She left TeleDirect in 1999 and joined McGladrey & Pullen LLP (RSM LLP) as a manager in their solutions development consulting group. There she helped clients automate business processes through custom application development. In 2002 she joined Group O, Inc. to lead their promotional marketing division as Vice President of Operations. While at Group O she led the division to significant growth and expanded service offerings. In 2006 she rejoined RSM in their technology consulting practice and was promoted to partner in 2012.
With her husband Rick, she founded Burkamper Consulting LLC in February of 2022. The goal of the organization is to help companies align their technology investments to business strategy. In that effort, Laura performs technology assessments, provides executive technology leadership services, assists companies in digital transformation activities and brings technology to the table in the planning and execution of the business strategy.
Rick Burkamper
Managing Director
Rick Burkamper is Managing Director of Burkamper Consulting LLC. Rick has over 30 years of private accounting experience. His expertise is with family-owned small growing companies where he has been successful in aligning finance, sales and operations to meet company goals and objectives.
After serving honorably in the United States Marine Corps, Rick attended Scott Community College and then St. Ambrose University, earning a BA in Accounting. His experience includes Vice President of Finance for Country Stone, Inc. The company grew from revenue over 500% from 2002 to 2014. Rick’s latest experience was with US Adventure RV where he was CFO / Operations Manager until 2021. The two-store dealership increased revenue 75% in less than 5 years.
With his wife Laura, he founded Burkamper Consulting in February of 2022. His emphasis is to provide Fractional CFO / Controller services to small and growing businesses.
